Young Professionals is a dynamic English language course for students wishing to gain hands-on experience, essential skills, and insight into their future careers.

On this course, students will engage in a variety of academic and apprentice-style lessons, which are taught by a diverse team of experienced tutors with significant experience working in their chosen field. Within each chosen academic stream, students will explore and learn:

  • Key English vocabulary pertaining to their chosen field
  • Academic lessons and hands-on practical learning experiences
  • Engaging group projects that develop essential workplace skills, such as problema-solving and teamwork
  • Student-centered learning environments inside and outside the classroom
  • Study-in-action excursions, careers Q&A panels

LESSON STYLES

 

Academic Studies

Students will learn from highly experienced tutor practitioners who will share their personal insights into the industry, as well as deliver the theoretical and practical components of the course through a tutorial approach.
The pedagogical approach of Young Professionals is rooted in the understanding that career education, or vocational training, prepares students to have more positive and fulfilling future careers. Lessons on Young Professionals combine both theoretical and applied lessons to develop academic knowledge and practical experience in their chosen career during the programme.

Students can explore different career paths whilst building strong personal skills, such as communication, teamwork, leadership, and management skills. Lessons are interactive and encourage student-centered learning, allowing students time to develop inquiry skills whilst engaging in hands-on learning from career professionals that can offer personal, professional, and educational advice to students.

Capstone Industry Project

The Capstone Project is a real-world assignment where students work alongside industry professionals and apply their subject knowledge to tackle industry-related challenges.
Students from related fields of study will come together to complete an interdisciplinary project based on a real-life problem-solving situation. This project is externally assessed and certified and provides an opportunity to work with industry professionals and can support a student’s university application.

 

Industry Workshops

The industry workshops are off-site activities that provide a unique opportunity for students to extend and broaden their academic experience through linked subject specific career-related workshops delivered by industry leading providers.

 

Activities & Excursions

The Activity and Excursion component provides the students with the opportunity to socialise with other international students, and visit places of interest within the UK that can help develop their cultural appreciation.

also strengthening their English language skills. It blends technical training with hands-on workshops, giving students the opportunity to build programming skills, explore how intelligent systems work, and apply their knowledge to practical projects.

Architect

This career-focused programme introduces students to the world of architecture through a blend of design projects, technical workshops, and site visits to architectural landmarks in Oxford and London, while also strengthening their English language skills.
Alongside academic learning students gain insight into the skills and practices used by architects, preparing them for future study and career pathways in the built environment.
Leave with an industry-recognised certificate, a portfolio of creative work, and valuable first-hand experience in architecture.

 

Business & Marketing

This career- focused programme gives high school students a practical introduction to the fast-paced world of business and marketing while strengthening
their English language skills. It combines technical study with interactive workshops, real-world case studies, and cultural excursions, helping students gain entrepreneurial confidence, commercial awareness, and language fluency.

Engineering

This career- focused programme gives high school students practical insight into engineering while strengthening their English language skills. You will dive
into technical theory, apply concepts through interactive activities, and work on industry-level projects. Build a portfolio and gain practical skills while connecting with others from around the world.

 

Psychology

This career-focused programme introduces high school students to the study of the mind and behaviour while strengthening their English language skills.
You will explore topics from memory and perception to social influence and mental health, while developing transferable skills for future academic and professional pathways.
It blends academic theory with applied workshops, case studies, and research projects – giving students a taste of what it’s like to study and work in psychology.

Young Architects
Architecture

The Architecture steam of Young Professionals gives students the opportunity to discover the principles and methods of architectural design. Both interior and exterior development form the building blocks of the programme including understanding of the structural aspects and components of architectural design, and the relations between architecture and engineering as a profession. Ideal for students interested in working in the architectural world of design.  

Young Executives
Business & Enterprise

By the end of the course, students should be able to evaluate business behaviour from the perspective of a range of stakeholders including owner, shareholder, manager, employee, customer, supplier, lender and government.
It is aimed for students who want to get a head start in the business world and develop their understanding of how success is built within the world of work.

Young Creatives
Digital Marketing & Communications

Ideal for students interested in working in the digital world, or pursuing a career in Marketing. 
The Digital Marketing & Communications stream of Young Professionals aims to introduce students to a career in the digital marketing industry. Through a combination of theory lessons and practical workshops, students develop a critical understanding of marketing and its relationship with media, and learn how to effectively communicate with consumers across a digital platform.

Young Engineers
Engineering

Students will gain a better understanding of the engineering industry from a commercial and individual engineer’s point of view, as well as be able to apply their knowledge of its practical and technological aspects, through project based practical study of engineering design and production.
It is aimed for students interested in pursing a career in engineering including different types of engineering such as mechanical, electronic and civil. Students interested in building design and construction.

Young Medics
Medicine

Through classroom tuition and laboratory work, relevant to human biology and medicine, the syllabus is designed to grow student confidence and knowledge in medical studies.
It is aimed for students interested in pursing a career in medicine or a related field such as pharmacy, or have a general interest in medicine and medical biology

Young Computer Programmers
Software Development

Young Professionals UK’s Computer Programming stream teaches students how to solve problems efficiently, think algorithmically, and learn how to develop a programming project. It is suitable for both beginner and intermediate computer programmers. Ideal for students interested in pursuing a career in the technology industry.
